Overview

As you know, Hebrew does not have a separate present continuous. àðé îãáø (ani medaber) means both “I am speaking” and “I speak”. In the past tense, however, we do have the past continuous (“I was reading when she called”) and also a way to express a continuous action that started and ended in the past ( “I used to” or “I would”). This lesson covers the past continuous and analyzes the verbs that appear in the lesson text.
